ginger ants is Solenopsis geminata. Solenopsis
geminata presents a grave threat to conservation values because it will
invade native communities and affect many or all of the animals and plants
in that community. The name fire ant comes from the fiery pain caused by
their stings - numerous ants may attack a person when the colony is
disturbed. S. geminata is most prevalent in insolated areas, living in
